ABA Blue Sky Center for Learning Training for Lifespan Therapists

by Mia Thomas PT, DPT

Friday March 17th, 2017 Lifespan Therapists came together for a 3 hour mini course on how to incorporate Applied Behavior Analysis techniques into their school based and early intervention treatment plans.

Jessie Kanowitz, Ithaca College alumna and director of behavioral services at the Blue Sky Center for Learning, came to the Lifespan Office in King Ferry, NY to present a lecture created specifically for Lifespan Therapists. Kanowitz was able to give a unique perspective to our therapists as she is no t only trained as a behavioral analyst, but also as a special education teacher and recreational therapist.

This is the first time Lifespan Therapies, PLLC has banded with Blue Sky Center for Learning, a non-profit agency focusing on utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior to work with children with autism and related developmental disabilities. Blue Sky Center for Learning  and Lifespan Therapies, PLLC hope to continue to team together and work independently on training individuals about best practices to use when working with these populations!
