In my column in our previous e-newsletter, I shared that Lifespan was beginning the process of defining the position and recruiting for an executive director. As the practice has grown, daily management responsibilities have consumed much of my time and energy. I began my career as a solo practitioner with a single patient under my direct care, and watched the practice grow to its present number of employees providing a wide variety of related services in a large geographic area. My irrational imaginings of being smashed by a manure spreader as I walk across the street from my home to my office in this bucolic agricultural landscape have also inspired me to make sure that my responsibilities and commitments at the practice would be attended to in the event that I become road kill.
I am pleased to announce that Lifespan has hired a new executive director. Margaret Vence, PT, DPT, GCS has accepted the position and will officially begin her employment on August 29, 2017. Dr. Vence brings with her a great deal of administrative and clinical practice experience. As you read on in this newsletter you will find an introductory statement from Dr. Vence detailing her credentials and experience.
I will be spending a great deal of time this fall semester working alongside Dr. Vence to orient her to Lifespan and introduce her to our staff and the individuals that receive and patronize our services. I’m looking forward to meeting with many of you in this capacity over the next months.
