Therapy practices collaborate to benefit more kids in need
March 24, 2017 – Lifespan Therapies, King Ferry, NY and Hear2Learn Syracuse, NY, signed a Reciprocal Services Agreement to offer much needed therapeutic evaluation services for children with special needs in Cayuga, Onondaga and surrounding counties.
Reacting to a long waiting list for PT, OT, and SLP services for children in need, Lifespan owner Dana Mandel cited the unique nature of this collaboration. “Working with the excellent staff at Hear2Learn is an excellent example of how competing therapy practices can work together to meet the growing needs of children with disabilities in our region.” said Mandel, DPT, board certified pediatric physical therapist who opened Lifespan Therapies in 1987 .
Community collaborations at Hear2Learn are not new, as the small preschool services agency started in 2005 has grown to become a multi-faceted organization that includes partnerships with other human service organizations such as Aurora of CNY . Mandel shared his view on partnering with Hear2Learn, “ I am confident in working with Hear2Learn CEO Arlene Balestra-Marko, that this relationship will grow and be able to offer additional services to a wider population of children.”
Hear2Learn is a New York State Department of Health and Education approved agency that provides Early Intervention and Preschool Services for children with diverse special needs. Lifespan Therapies, PLLC, offers a wide range of therapy services to school districts throughout a 4 county area in the Finger Lakes region, as well as comprehensive rehabilitation at their King Ferry office.
